About ESBE

The Economics of the Sustainable Built Environment (ESBE) Lab is a multidisciplinary research lab that was established in 2009 at Georgia Tech. The ESBE lab focuses on advancing the state of the art in Risk-based Economic Decision Analysis.

At the ESBE lab, we are interested in enhancing our understanding about how financial, policy, and economic issues affect investments in resilient, sustainable, and interdependent infrastructure systems.

Also, we capitalize on the increasing availability of massive complex data, so-called Big Data, and effectively utilize this rich source of information to support assessment (descriptive analytics), forecasting (predictive analytics), and decision-making (prescriptive analytics) in construction automation and project analytics.
