ELECTRI International announced that Georgia Tech Assistant Professor Dr. Baabak Ashuri has been awarded a $7,000 special research grant through a partnership created by the Atlanta Chapter NECA and Lutron Electronics Company, Inc.  The research project, A Systematic Approach for the Assessment of Green Opportunities for Electrical Contractors, will be conducted Dr. Ashuri and a Georgia Tech Building Construction Graduate Student. The projectwill develop a method that contractors can use to evaluate sustainable opportunities based on their characteristics, and potential benefits/risks. The study also will create an investment evaluation tool for electrical contractors to present green opportunities to prospective clients.

Dr. Baabak Ashuri is an assistant professor in the School of Building Construction at the Georgia Institute of Technology and director of the Georgia Tech Economics of the Sustainable Built Environment (ESBE) Lab in the School of Building Construction. He specializes in Economic Decision Analysis, Strategic Risk Management, Investment Analysis under Uncertainty (e.g., the Real Option Methodology), Capital Budgeting, and Project Finance.
